The Relationship Between Media and The Past
I find the information about the connection between media and the past so interesting since media, even the latest ones, have roots in the past and are connected to it through their representations of past events. People use media to learn about past events and implicitly encounter the past through various forms. For example, photographs serve as evidence of the past, while television newscasts may take viewers to a location where something happened recently. Digital images can also recompile the notion of a photographic index, highlighting the complex relationship between media and the past (Gitelman 2008).
Is It Possible For New Media To Become Outdated?
This book explores the creation of new media, focusing on inscriptive media. Inscriptive media combines material and semiotic elements, with stability and scalability arising from social and perceptual factors. The fixed nature of print as an inscription is due to early modern circulation and perceptual conditions. Landscape photography's scientific qualities are defined by nineteenth-century practices and precision. New media are socially embedded sites for ongoing negotiation of meaning. Comparing and contrasting new media can provide insight into the contested relations of forces that determine the pathways by which new media may eventually become obsolete. This information impressed me because I have never thought new media could be outdated (Gitelman 2008).

Media Disappearance
The topic of media disappearance is a subjective matter that can be influenced by individual perspectives. Some people believe that media should disappear due to concerns about its impact on society, such as the prevalence of biased narratives or serving the interests of those in power. However, media plays a vital role in informing, entertaining, and connecting people. It provides a platform for diverse voices and perspectives. If media were to disappear, it would mean losing a valuable tool for communication, education, and cultural expression.

Realism In Media
In many cases, realistic depiction is not always the main goal in media, especially in genres where artistic expression takes precedence over truthful portrayal. For instance, the purpose of science fiction and fantasy movies, like "Star Wars" and "The Lord of the Rings," is to create vivid, creative worlds rather than to depict reality as it exists.

Media Convergence
According to my understanding, media convergence is the integration of various media forms and technologies into a single platform or device, often blurring the lines between traditional media categories and merging various content types. A smartphone is a primary example of media convergence, combining broadcast, and internet media into a single device that performs various functions like calling, texting, photography, videography, and gaming.
In recent times, I have been using streaming services like Netflix that offer a combination of television and film. These services allow users to access a vast range of content on demand. Another example of convergence is social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. These platforms combine images, videos, and text to create a unified interface.
